If you want to Install Nvidia under fedora 12 then follow the procedure below  :-

Procedure :-

Open the terminal :-

#> su
[put in your password]

# >  gedit /etc/grub.conf

1. Add this to the end of the kernel line in /etc/grub.conf  :

"rdblacklist=nouveau vga=0×318"

2.Terminal  Command:

su -c "rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm"

3.Terminal  Command :

"yum update"

4. For 64bit Users:

"yum install kmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686 xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.x86_64"

5. For 32bit Users:

"yum install kmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686"

6. Reboot the system

7. You are done !

NOTE : If this doesn’t seem to work for you, in step one, instead of "rdblacklist=nouveau" Then try "nouveau.modeset=0"

Follow the step given below :

Open Terminal and Type :

For gnome users :

• gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

For KDE users :

• gksudo kwrite /etc/apt/sources.list.

Add the line below :

• deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ karmic free non-free

Now save the sources list.

In the terminal type :

• $ sudo wget http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/hardy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

Then do an update:

• $ sudo apt-get update

• $ sudo apt-get –yes -q –allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring

• $ sudo apt-get -q update

And finally install Skype.

$ sudo apt-get install skype

Ready … now start skype with

$ skype

OR Alternative Method :

Download the setup

32 -bit

64 -bit

Launch the Skype install .deb file (just double click it) and follow the on screen prompts.

(To start Skype at system startup)

Go to “System -> Preferences -> Startup Application”, Click “Add” and enter the following details:

* Name: Skype

* Command: skype

Click “Save”

Next time you start your system Skype will auto-launch.
